next round for chymeras >death by misadventure< interpretations. this time, both remixes were made for >an island in space<, definitely one of the highlight tracks of the album. on side a, uncanny valleys jacob korn, who just released his debut longplayer >you&me<, turns the tune into an intoxicating hymn somewhere between house and techno. catchy, and with a wonderfully positive atmosphere, the track is pure bliss. on the b, dutch techno veteran orlando voorn delivers a piece of properly driving melodic techno. several melodies entangle to one big sound collage. there is no real beginning or end, like a neverending jam. a very unique track and so much more than a useful tool...

the house duo who have released music on classic, om, icon, etc drop this 3 track ep on four play music. my family takes on the a-side with their signature jazzy, soulful sound. ocean drive is an uptempo cut with a hot rhythm & keys. like there s no tomorrow ends with a serious groove.

is it balearic hit their late 20s with another superb release - this time craig bratley steps up with analogue dreams. craig has earnt quite a reputation from only a handful of releases, including the weatherall favourite and classic cut >birdshell< on instruments of rapture. on analgue dreams, craig lays down a gently evolving, acid tinged piano slow burner, all mood and melody. first up on the remix we have the ever essential bonar bradberry who amps things up and takes a clonking bass riff down the disco for a real good time. on the flip crimea x pare the musical elements right down and build an epic remix from the raw ingredients, employing live percussion and shimmering synths. finally joes bakery dial down the tempo and incorporate some deft acoustic guitar and gentle moodswings alongside the musical elements of the original.

next up on rising japanese label >fasten musique< we have two dutch natives and members of eshu, ivano tetelepta and roger gerressen who released super slick sounds from fear of flying, sudden drop and wolfskuil, supplying the luscious and sharp modern minimal beats with beautiful floating synth melodies. another fresh dutch native ion ludwig is offering special remix

lowriders is back after a well deserved summer break and the massiv doshy release. aleph, russian youngster, ivan erofeev, who has travelled form siberia via omsk to st. petersburg delivers a fab ep moving between styles. it is a bit house, some boogie flares, it is crooked as a hoop but for most fresh. aleph released on the great canadian label king deluxe two acclaimed digital eps with a big remix from distal on the last one. limited release of 200 numbered copies.

a shift from monochrome to full colour sleeves signifies the start of a new phase for space cadets. the chambers of apogee ep comes from anonymous debutant lyterian, an exclusive signing to space cadets. masterfully employing the hypnotically dark rhythms of mid-90s jungle and applying them to a contemporary d&b framework ... the real question is just who is lyterian?
original sleeve artwork is once again contributed by us illustrator theo ellsworth. all vinyl pressed to extra heavy 180g acetate.

van bonn returns after his release maserung on telrae in april 2011. van bonn has been in the studio a lot since then and has worked on a number of tracks that are highlighted here. onwards i is an excursion into sound. it starts with sounds that interact in a subtle way but then as if by magic, suddenly it rises to a much higher energy level, almost pulling you by the hair. chords now kick in with the full force of brutality, like the strikes of london’s big ben and then you’d think the track will just burst. van bonn makes another turn before he lets the drums break loose. it seems as if van bonn is taming the brutality and direction of his electronic machines. abstract now meets the concrete and whoever wins the fight is up to the listener to decide. the first remix comes by raffaele attanasio who has had considerable success with der pianist and i m a jazzman and has collaborated with trapez ltd artist mihalis safras, a. trebor (trapez), as well as claude young, nic fanciulli and has shown his versatility throughout the last 3 years. juan atkins recently featured raffaele attanasio remix of no mans land by a. trebor in his charts.his remix for van bonn keeps up a strong beat programming right from the beginning. a beat monster so to speak is alive from the beginning and kicking. the track is written in a style that shows expansion and contraction and through that shows an organic breathing quality.

constantly providing quality over quantity toby tobias finally releases its debut on burek. and as his biography states: >tobys music is truly unique - in a genre now saturated with generic, formulaic music, toby is one of the few who can claim to have his own sound< so toby brings to burek its unique view on house music - tracks running away i tres mal.

first release on new label martin hossbach (berlin). berlins most extravangant furniture dealer, rafael horzon, who sold more than 30.000 copies of his biography »das weisse buch« in germany, lets peaches sing about his love for the shelves he makes in his berlin-mitte factory. this is the first time peaches sings in german! classy synth pop, music written by armin von milch of milch fame. extravagant die-cut sleeve, the inner sleeve features the lyric sheet as used by peaches and also includes a cd featuring the two songs from the vinyl. mastered by helmut erler at dubplates & mastering, 180g pressing. a music video will be posted on youtube and go viral, a week prior to the release.

on the a side is the vocal version of ywfla. breach wanted this track on vinyl so thought he would release this exclusive version in a very limited fashion. on the flip is a tasty remix from up and coming citizen who delivers perfectly with this dancefloor ready re shape of the original.

jack dice is a new project from john twells and walkmaster flex, now releasing their debut ep for modern love. john twells, amongst very many other things, runs the type label and has been producing music of various different disciplines and varieties over the last 15 years. although hes never released anything on modern love before, hes a long time friend and associate of the label. walker is the manager of main attrakionz and has been djing with them for the last couple of years as the official green ova dj. jack dice is fuelled by an interest in bass, twells being a car audio nerd and walker having an obsession with 90s southern rap music. these are their first tracks produced together, who know what might follow.

the verwunschen ep got influenced by many deep house music, tech house, but also by electronic underground music, which was not made for the club. a mixture of this and organic instruments, which are typical for his music, made the music warm and melancholic, but the cutted vocals brought a little clubby atmosphere in the track. in the bonus track >bosporus< you hear the influence of berlin tech house music. trumpets were very popular at that time in berlin. the track was only made for the club. remixes from marlon hoffstadt and matthias kick were organised, who did their own interpretation and showed some other sides of the song.

ltd black repress!!! early sähkö / seico corp inspired goodness from new project, shadows. avian moves on from the last two highly successful releases by londons mpia3 with a new project from undercover operatives, shadows. taking cues from early sähkö or seico corp records and putting a modern twist on it, shadows first ep for avian features two bruised & scorched original productions as well as a reinterpretation by new yorks mike parker who takes distorted images and reconstructs it in his own typically restrained but super effective style.

repitch returns with a strong 3-tracker ep from the high-acclaimed british duo and, enhanced by a remix that comes from semantica s boss svreca. the release starts with a catchy techno track that got its strength in an endearing melody and a reassuring breath-alike sound that bring us positive vibes. in the a2, svreca puts the a1 track into a black tunnel. claustrophobic atmospheres, blind and disorienting sounds with a circular attitude that you ll not see the end. on the flip, the b1 would be the pick for those who want to destroy a dancefloor. straight and distorted beats are followed by sinister whistles, pressing and complex hi-hats layers culminating in a punishing melody.

fantastic reissue of two highly sought-after disco gems from canadian indie label attic. first up is sparkles awesome and very rare piece of jazzy disco-funk >disco madness< from 1979. a soaring high-voltage killer of a tune, it sports a pacy bassline supported by high-quality breaks and über-funky guitar riffs. flip over for the great que tal america!< from two man sound who despite hailing from belgium managed to create this monster latino classic. seamlessly fusing samba, jazz, bossanova and disco, this record was a huge underground anthem in new york back in the 70s. with its immensely funky salsa grooves and fabulous rhythm combo, you can understand why this track has been sampled to death. unmissable disco at its finest - sheer class!

r&s welcome new signing mpia3 to the label with a doublepack of uncompromising techno. mpia3 is a production alias of truss (perc trax) who has just the two eps preceding this on shifteds avian label. >your orders< see him continue down the path of raw, industrial, seriously funky, acid techno. his signature overdriven kicks recall classic robert armani and his sound harks back to the days of mike dearbourn and djax up beats, and the classic uk techno of ben sims and james ruskin but the tracks on >your orders< could have only been made in 2012. this is heavyweight music built for proper soundsystems and dark rooms. the six tracks on the ep straddle different tempos with some slick drum programming, but are tied together with some razor sharp synths and a healthy dose of acid.

the son of a prominent nicaraguan politician, alfonso noel lovo was a choice target for the sandinista rebels who hijacked his homeward flight from miami in december of 1971, ultimately putting several rounds through the talented musicians torso and hand. after several years, and as many surgeries, he would break new ground on this psychedelic swirl of latin jazz and pan-american funk with his musical partner, percussionist jose chepito areas of santana fame. long unavailable, la gigantona has lived its forty years lost in the grooves of a single acetate. imagine a nicaraguan take on herbie hancocks afro-jazz masterpiece mwandishi with some of the most penetrating, left-field guitar youve never heard.

after the zohar comes black dynamite aka ivano tetelepta – another well kept secret in the house music scene. on his city to city ep the man delights us with three raw and extremely funky tracks which display a deep love for oldschool hip-hop beats. in fact, these three tracks oscillate heavily between stripped down, soulinfluenced house and instrumental hip-hop. and everyone who knows tenderpark will immediately understand that this is just the perfect synthesis of some of our main interests.

incl 2 bit crew, lgg, volta cab and rosenhaft. 2 bit crews just cant seem. taking a sound heavily influenced by the underground house music / garage sound of the 90s, this is a bumping groove with a driving bassline and hatswith a simple female vocal sample that will stick in your brain. the second track takes things deeper with bastien carrara aka lgg with let me, smooth rhodes chords with a love sensation sample underpinned by raw beats and sub-bass. on the second side things get a little tougher. the third track is from a producer who has had many releases already on labels such as balance alliance, seven music and undertones, konstantyn isaev, better known as volta cab. his track what is underground focuses primarily on a killer bassline, retro synth stabs and a cheeky hip-hop sample used to great effect. finally is haim rosenhaft, a young producer from israel with 1992, his homage consists of an old school organ sound with heavy kicks and snares influenced by the sound of labels like umm and cleveland city in the 90s. again this will be a vinyl only release

japans rhythm of elements return with another e.p. that display their versatility and belief in the many forms that soulful music can take. >tribe #3< contains the classic rhythm of elements combination of dj uchikawas firing electronic beats alongside virtuoso piano playing by makoto kuriya, plus bass by incognitos francis hylton. the track is a tribute to the late departed detroit electronic music artist aaron carl who sadly passed away last year. continuing the detroit connection, rick wilhite has been working with the likes of theo parrish and moodymann for years, and his remix of >tribe #3< provides an audio beatdown, stripping the whole thing down to its rawest elements, and supplying the hard and the smooth in perfect balance. >blow< is another journey into a percussive horn driven groove for the dancefloor. rhythm of elements provide the remix, layering the musical elements like flavours in a delicious cake. finally, >meditation bath< (loftsoul 2012 mix) takes the pace right down for this beautifully relaxing slow burner. close your eyes and let it flow over you.

french fries delivers two originals on the cutting edge of modern bass. “space alarm” is right up in your face but artfully holds back right when you think it will go over the top. the inside “smoke wine” is more in the vein of last years smash “yo vogue,” yet more understated and deep which is rare for the genre. when i play these at the right time they always solicit an audible “ooooh” from the crowd at thedrops. remix #1 is by justin martin who really blows it up dirtybird style with almost a breakbeat old school electro beat. remix #2 is by dirtybird newcomers goldffinch via belgium who also deliver a really funk laden club version. both remixes are ace and the full release brings a very fresh sound to the label.

the man who brought saltyness into house music- julius steinhoff - comes up with his second solo 12inch on smallville- so glad. connecting to salty days - one of the longplayers of the decade by smallpeople (aka julius and dionne), steinhoffs soloworks strike even more voluptuary with slightly rapturous pleasure. being founder of hamburgs finest record store and label, smashing worlds deepest parties with guests such as omar s, jus-ed, mike huckaby, xdb, steven tang and tons of other favorites, julius steinhoffs knowledge has been compressed to a state of the mind 12 inch.

the third modal analysis ep, sand, comes from the talented greek producer sawf, who has a number of releases on perc trax. sawfs two original tracks for ma expose the listener to a deep, industrial environment. offering a modular interpretation of sand #1 is belgian sound designer (and one-half of experimental duo sendai) yves de mey.

2nd lazare hoche with more 90s inspired pumpin house

after all efforts were put into jacob korns debut album during summer 2012 uncanny valley strikes back with namesake jacob stoy and his very first solo ep after his s51 for the uv010-compilation. everything starts with redensart, a sunny piece of music with a sneaky bassline and easy synth pads that come across like a warm rain shower: its house in the end but feels like so much more. hauswart is an impressive example of how one can create a whole atmosphere of sound within two minutes. its short but feels so comfortable that you really like it to go on and on forever. start is maybe the most conventional deep house track on the ep and seduces with catchy synth chords and thrilling drums. finally gegenwart brings things to a jazzy end with tipsy synths and tripping percussions. the artwork comes from none other than jacobs father olaf stoy, who is a painter, lyricist and porcelain designer still working in jacobs hometown rabenau near dresden.

one of figures most prolific artists, a.mochi offers up his first ever ep for figure spc, with 2 especially subterranean and highly charged tracks. mochi, who last year released his outstanding >primordial soup< lp on figure, continues to tread the line between functional club techno, and post-apocalyptic mechanical soundtracks. the well-defined a side burner, >riff< charges along with textured, woody percussion at its heart, and mochis trademark white noise ensemble pushing the high frequencies. a reduced, classically minimalist work, the track relies on just a handful of elements to induce a real fever on the dancefloor. following closely in its footsteps is >sunset<, a deeper cut with hi-tech atmospheres and intricate percussion at its core. metallic synths surge under mochis wall of bass, and the straight-ahead ebb of the sharp hats and claps edge this monster into even darker zones.

londons dogmatik label goes from strength to strength and after the success of the dusky – flojam ep, they deliver yet again with peace divisions mighty blacklight sleeze. opening with the dirty and sexy remix by dyed soundorom this one show to be for the true house playas who want their tracks bassline driven, sexy and full of tension high. on the flip we got man of the moment gerd spicing things up and preparing his acid sleaze mix ready for the sleaziest darkrooms. his tough sleaze mix is going straight for the main floor with a heavy pulsating bass setting the tone with hypnotic vocals on top in a classic and timeless chicago house way. a solid 12 inch release.

a fistful of wax is an extension for some very special projects of our beloved deep house skylax records sub – label wax classic. for this first release, we give you the opportunity to grab 5 fantastic trax done by some of the best deep house producers at the moment. a1 is done by the great girogio luceri whose been releasing some very hot tunes through jamal moss mathematics & runaways on the prowl labels. a2 is done by jamie trench one of the new hot producer made in london, his track sound very very garage & we loved it instantly. while on the b side we have again 3 bomb tracks featuring first on b1 jackmaster k who delivers clearly an anthem, it reminds us some of best house music made in uk (circa 91/92), this track could have been played by sasha & digweed or carl cox at shoom ! b2 is marcoradi , an italian producer who teamed up with the great nicholas on one his 4lux release. he also produced many remixes (erykah badu ect ...) & some 12 inches over the years. b3 is rio padice from rawax & housewax fame those tracks are all firmly rooted into the deep house sound (check the detroitian vibes of get back). they never settle into one comfortable, predictable groove. its heady, emotion-rich grooves include warm, melodic two-step and future garage flavas, dubwise slo-mo grooves. its eclectic, no doubt, but thanks to those guys warm production and heavy deep vocals, this release will put your hands up in the air marvellously.

as emotional rescue continues to deliver the goods for those who love discofied rarities from the 70s and 80s, here comes this ep from kevin harrison, originally released in 1982 and worth a pretty penny second hand. it is a wistful, proggy kind of groove that finds harrisons voice lost in an alien phaser while the live band feel gels with synthesiser parts for a fluid kind of cosmic goodness. there is simply no arguing with the plush melodic wonderment of >views of the rhine<, while >fly< is the jam the party djs will reach for, not least for its slinky bassline. amazing.

nice price deal !!! dennis busch is an artist who is well-known to all pingipung fans for his >james din a4< contributions to our catalogue. this man of many faces has also developed a reputation as visual artist. therefore he decides to present his music under the same name: dennis busch - which we think might be his real one. dennis busch has delivered an enormous output of odd, melodic techno tracks in the last decade – mostly on his own now unfortunately vanished esel imprint (this means donkey).

this twentieth 3024 release is by my friend trevino. i am particularly proud to put this out because it was trevino (aka marcus intalex), who signed my very first tracks and gave me my break back in 2005 (a 12 inch called get down on his label revolve:r). in the last two years he has started taking his techno more seriously, writing new tracks at a very fast pace. i am glad people are taking notice of his music cos he is the real deal and it was tough picking tracks for this release cos he is making so many! ultimately we chose four that would clearly showcase marcus different sides and styles. so, seven years after my >get down<, i am proudly presenting the mighty trevino with his >tactical manoeuvre ep<.
